Latest Beauty Trends causing a stir

The mani is back, but with a twist.

The French manicure.

Polished, sophisticated, subtle.

The French manicure has never gone out of style but rather forgotten about over the years, as colour has most certainly dominated.

Where nail technicians have become accustomed to every colour imaginable as well as style and design, nails, and certainly perfectly painted nails is a beauty trend that has continued to grow year on year.

As we move into spring, the latest beauty trend that we’re 100% confident will be a big hit is that of colourful manicures! Taking inspiration from this year’s fashion and beauty trends to style more minimalistic while still bringing a flair of creativity and personality.

So, move aside French manicure and in walk Parisian manicures.

Trading white tips with a coloured polish tip, nails will never look so chic!

This minimalist design and style are expected to be seen in every colour this season.

Anti-Pollution Skincare is becoming a must-have, not a nice to have!

Interestingly we will also see the growth in anti-pollution skincare throughout 2020, which is set to become as popular, if not slightly more popular, than sun protection.

With the risk of air pollution becoming more and more prevalent, taking care of our skin has never been as important.

Unfortunately, air pollution can cause our skin to show signs of aging much faster, as well as increase acne, highlight dark circles, and much more.

To help, anti-pollution skincare ranges are now becoming much more readily available and promoted.

Ranges such as Cle de Peau Beaute’s great Correcting Cream Veil, which provides anti-pollution as well as SPF defence, Clinique’s Dramatically Different Hydrating Jelly, REN Flash Defence Anti-Pollution Mist, and Chantecaille Anti-Pollution Mattifying Cream – to name a few!

Beauty products explicitly targeted at Generation X.

Move over millennials and anti-aging beauty regimes and let us welcome `ageless messaging` with beauty products designed and focused on Generation X.

What do we mean by this?

Well, for the beauty industry, we can expect to see a much larger range of products focusing on servicing specific concerns that this generation is dealing with (hormonal changes and menopause being the two big areas that will brands will focus their attention on).  With brands such as Clarins, L’Oréal Paris, Korres, and Trinny London set to make some big launches in 2020 within this lucrative space.

Self-care is invaluable

As the world focuses on mental wellbeing and positive mental health, the beauty industry is no exception.

Our drive for positive mental health and wellbeing is affecting consumer buying habits, where we have seen a positive shift towards brands that offer `experiences` as well as products that support physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing.

Revlon is a great example of this in action, as the brand has recently announced its collaboration with Gurls Talk, a mental health organisation founded by model and activist Adwoa Aboah – promoting a safe space for girls to talk openly about a range of issues.

However, the challenge for brands is how to show their commitment to self-care and how their beauty products can link and promote a feeling of disconnect and a feeling of “me time” being a positive step.

It’s not all about women!

The beauty industry is about to see a boom, and it’s going to focus on men specifically!

Men’s personal care is on the rise, and 2020 is proving the year for brands to capitalise on this with products specifically targeted and focused on the male sector.

Reports from Allied Market Research shows predictions that this slice of the beauty market is set to grow considerably, to such a rate that it will potentially reach $166 billion by 2022!

With an increase in male concealers, brow definers, and bronzers, brands such as YSL, Tom Ford, and Clinique are preparing for a busy 2020.

The beauty industry is set to be big in 2020. Focusing on some key themes which brands are focusing on and tailoring their messages accordingly.

However, as I finish typing and re-reading this post, not only am I staring at dull nails, which I believe most definitely need a Persian mani but also, I need to up my skincare regime with immediate effect!
