A makeup brand growing demand – `Makeup a Murder`

Table of Contents

No, we haven’t made this name up as we approach the spooky Halloween season!  This indie cosmetic and beauty brand is very bloody (yes pun intended) real.

Brought to fruition by self-taught makeup artist Theresa Spencer.  Spencer has used Instagram as her primary source of advertising and promotion, helping both her makeup range and personal brand grow considerably over the past 18 months.

With over 45,000 followers and growing, this is a brand which is still relatively new to the market, and completely different.  With Spencer’s followers very aware of what the beauty range truly entails.

With references to poison, gore, and crime scenes, this is a makeup line with a twist!

What’s more, the brand goes above and beyond to offer the full package.  Taking the time with its product names and packaging – everything is designed to match, stand out, and create immediate impact.

With eye shadow colours in Ricin and Radioactive, you will find both of these also packaged in test tubes for added effect.

Pretty cool, if we do say so!

You’ll also find fingerprint setting powder, evidence marker lashes, and criminology forensic brush kits, to name just a few of their other sinfully delightful products.

Not just used for gory scenes in a horror film, Spencer’s site and Instagram is filled with different looks and styles to try out.

With other professional makeup artists (torymua_, hassilem_liz_bell, and ciaobellabeautystudios) joining in on the murder theme, Spencer’s range and brand are set for continued growth in 2020 and beyond.

The power of social media and influencer status for this brand has been incredible.

As we’re still experimenting with some of the brighter colours, we at Fashion Rider, might hold off until Halloween to test out some of the more exuberant colour palettes.
