As the world returns to a different normal and we enter 2022, large-scale events are back in full swing – and we can’t wait!

With something to inspire and excite every creative, from the magnificent Fashion Weeks to music festivals, photography shows, art exhibitions, and more, 2022 is the year of collaboration.

This month we’d like to spotlight two particularly significant events…

The Chelsea Flower Show

Taking place on 24-28 May 2022, this year’s infamous flower show is set to be one that we think fashion creatives worldwide will want to see.

Why?

Because this year, we will see the introduction of an incredibly unique, immensely creative textile garden.

In support of the Fashion Revolution and with a focus on collaboration, garden designer Lottie Delamain is creating the Chelsea Flower Shows first-ever garden that will be home to plants that can be used to dye and even make clothes.

This “All About Plants” concept highlights the important role plants and nature play in the world of fashion, showing the clear link between plants and the fashion world, highlighting these elements and more in abundance – from providing colour dyes, enhancing fibres, and even inspiring motifs and designs.

The textile installation for Fashion Revolution aims to promote a sustainable solution that re-establishes the connection between fashion and our natural environment, and we can’t wait to see this show in all of its blossoming glory.

The Chelsea Flower Show is a very creative event

Queens Jubilee

This year’s historic platinum jubilee will see not one but three displays marking the most significant occasions in Her Majesty’s reign.

The Accession taking place between July 22 to October 2, members of the general public will be able to view portraits of the Queen taken by esteemed photographer Dorothy Wilding between 1953 and 1956, alongside the jewellery that Her Majesty wore during these sittings.

The Coronation will be held in Windsor Castle from July 7 to September 26 and will feature the Coronation dress and robe of estate, designed by British couturier Sir Norman Hartnell.

The Jubilee, this final exhibition will be showcasing the array of her Majesty’s outfits worn to celebrate the silver, Golden, and Diamond jubilees.

Of course, we also have to mention three exciting and different events taking place during these celebrations:

The Platinum Jubilee Pageant – a festival of creativity; the Platinum Jubilee Pageant looks to bring together street art, music, costumes, theatre, and more, with some of the largest fashion brands and retailers signing up to be an official partner for the unique occasion.

The Queen’s Green Canopy – people around the UK are asked to get involved and “plant a tree for the jubilee”.

The Platinum Pudding competition – a nationwide baking competition designed to find a new pudding dedicated to The Queen.

These exhibitions, matched with the whole host of celebrations planned, aim to make 2022 a very exciting and inspiring year!

With a lot of events to open up our minds and give us food for thought throughout 2022, we will see collaboration as the central theme.

And speaking of food for thought, if you’re visiting London over the coming weeks, why not take a stroll down Sloane Street to view the magnificent, large-scale, eye-catching photographic installation named “Of Myth and Legend.”

Displayed at The Knightsbridge Estate featuring stunning portraits from photographic artist Asiko.

These displays mark the completion of not one but seven new flagship stores, with these vast portraits showcasing London’s multicultural fashion, culture, and history, celebrating the sharing of stories and highlighting that we all have more in common than what we may first think.
