Makeup trend: All about the eyes

Take a makeup wipe to those dark smokey eyes as we make room for stunningly (and in some cases neon) bright eyes this spring/summer.

Some of the latest standout shades on display have already made their colourful appearance throughout this year’s Fashion Weeks, showing the playful and fun side of the beauty industry as well as bringing to the forefront the fun side of life.

Experimenting with colours such as hot pink (the colour used in abstract shapes at Rodarte), or maybe getting closer to nature is more your style with the bright hues of green (similar to those on display at Marc Jacobs), or perhaps the sky’s the limit with the bright blues at Erdem?

Whatever your style bright eyes make the perfect statement and work well in music videos as well as being a great addition for photoshoots.  By accentuating the eyes, bright eyes are a prominent feature in photographs helping to make photos pop and draw people in.

Bold, powerful, and with the element of fun – what’s not to love.

Achieving this look is simple with the O!mega Shadow Gel Powder Eyeshadow by Marc Jacobs (priced at around £22), or the Dual Intensity Blush in a Panic, by NARS, priced at £30.

However, a word of caution.  These colours already stand out on their own, so make sure to stick to one colour and one colour only.  When we talk about rainbow colours, we don’t mean rainbow eyes…at least not yet!
